The Summer Reading Passport was a project I did in direct response to the kids who hung out on a daily basis at the branch of the library I worked at.
They were ravenous for activities at the library, and they especially loved coloring pages (not uncommon, but very nice to see)
They often asked if we could hold on to pages for them to finish the next day when they would be in again. Upon telling all of these children they were free to take any amount of pages home to color, I would often hear -
"I don't have anything to color with at home."
So, in a small effort to remedy this and perhaps a slight reinvention of the wheel - my branch supervisor approved the SRC Passport. Packed full of small, achievable tasks - some that they could even do that day without leaving the library itself. Every task equals a prize, some of which were small packs of coloring supplies. They small circles were places staff can stamp to indicate task completion and reward pickup.
